ConvoFly vs Kanal

Kanal is a WhatsApp marketing app for Shopify brands, strong on cart recovery, campaigns and AI. The comparison turns on whether you need a revenue tool or a team inbox.

Kanal starts at €89/month for one user with an AI agent, cart recovery and campaigns included, and adds users, advanced automations and an account manager at €149. ConvoFly starts at $12/month, puts WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger in one team inbox from $50, and connects Pakistani couriers. Kanal has AI on its entry plan, Klaviyo and Gorgias integrations, done-for-you setup and a 5.0 rating from 116 Shopify App Store reviews.

Pricing, side by side

Kanal publishes Pro at €89/month (1 user), Scale at €149/month (5 users), Business at €350/month (unlimited users, flows set up by Kanal) and Agency at €1,900/month, all without commitment, plus €50/month per extra market. Its Shopify App Store listing shows Pro and Scale at $89 and $149, billed in USD, and a free demo plan. ConvoFly's plans are $12/month for Starter up to $250/month for Diamond, with a 14-day free trial on every plan.

Both platforms exclude Meta's own WhatsApp conversation charges, which Meta bills based on country and message category and which no subscription includes. Those are left out of the table below so the comparison is like for like.

A marketing tool and a support inbox

Kanal describes itself as the way to make WhatsApp a Shopify store's number-one sales channel, and its plans are built that way: abandoned-cart recovery, campaigns to segments, back-in-stock alerts, post-purchase upsells and an AI agent that answers product questions in 96+ languages, with Klaviyo, Gorgias and Recharge integrations for brands that already run those tools. Its site is in English, French and Spanish.

ConvoFly starts from the shared inbox: several people answering WhatsApp, Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger in one queue, with automation and broadcasts around it. Both do cart recovery and order messages. The difference is emphasis — Kanal optimises the revenue flows, ConvoFly the day-to-day conversation load.

What the entry price buys

Kanal's Pro plan is €89/month on its own site ($89 on its Shopify App Store listing, billed in USD) for one user. It includes the inbox, cart recovery, campaigns, segments and the AI agent. Scale, at €149/month, adds four more users, unlimited automations, advanced automations (Shopify conditions, A/B tests, discount codes, carousel templates, API) and a dedicated account manager. Business at €350/month has unlimited users and Kanal's team sets up your flows for you. There is no commitment on any plan.

ConvoFly's Starter is $12/month for one seat and one channel, without AI. Growth is $50/month for 4 seats, all three Meta channels and AI blocks. A five-person team pays $70 on ConvoFly Growth against €149 on Kanal Scale.

Put plainly: at one seat Kanal costs more than ConvoFly's Starter but includes AI from day one, which ConvoFly only unlocks on Growth.

Where each one fits geographically

Kanal's integrations list — Shopify, PrestaShop, Klaviyo, Gorgias, Recharge, Crisp, Zendesk, Loyoly — is the toolkit of a European direct-to-consumer brand, and its multi-market option (+€50/month per market) is for brands selling across several countries. ConvoFly is built for cash-on-delivery markets: a COD confirmation flow on the Shopify order event, and daily status sync from the Pakistani couriers Leopards, PostEx and M&P that can trigger a message when a parcel moves. Neither of those appears in Kanal's integrations list.

Where ConvoFly is the better choice

A lower entry price
$12/month to put WhatsApp on a proper API inbox, against €89 for Kanal Pro. For a store that mostly needs to answer customers, the difference is most of the bill.
Three Meta channels in one queue
WhatsApp, Instagram DMs and Facebook Messenger land in the same inbox from Growth. Kanal's Instagram product is in early access, and we found no Messenger support on its site.
Cheaper small teams
Five people cost $70/month on ConvoFly Growth with one extra seat, against €149/month on Kanal Scale.
Built for cash on delivery
COD confirmation on the Shopify order, and Leopards, PostEx and M&P parcel statuses synced daily and able to trigger a flow.

Where Kanal is the better choice

AI on the first plan
Kanal includes its AI agent on the €89 Pro plan. ConvoFly's Starter has no AI blocks; you need Growth at $50/month.
The European DTC stack
Native Klaviyo, Gorgias, Recharge, Crisp and Zendesk integrations, PrestaShop support and multi-market campaigns. ConvoFly integrates none of those.
Someone to do it for you
From Scale there is a dedicated account manager, and on Business Kanal's team builds your flows and runs campaigns on demand as a published part of the plan. ConvoFly does not offer a named account manager at any price.
Reviews
A 5.0 rating from 116 reviews on the Shopify App Store at the time of checking, against a handful for ConvoFly.

The verdict

A European Shopify brand that lives in Klaviyo, wants AI from the first plan and would rather have someone build its flows should choose Kanal. A small store that needs a low-cost team inbox across WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, especially one shipping cash on delivery in Pakistan, will get more for less on ConvoFly.

What you would actually be using

The comparison above is about price and fit. If you want the detail on any one capability, these go deeper than a table row can:

  • WhatsApp automation — triggers, branching, AI blocks and the flows worth building first.
  • Shared team inbox — seats, assignment, round-robin and how the 24-hour window behaves for a team.
  • WhatsApp CRM — contacts, tags, attributes and what it deliberately does not do.
  • Shopify integration — the six store events and the cash-on-delivery flow.
  • Full pricing — every tier, both billing cycles.
